It was a relatively quiet start to the year, with only five of the 168 records we\u00a0track reaching new highs or lows during the first quarter. The one standout\u00a0moment was\u00a0 25 March<\/a>, when the combined output from Britain\u2019s renewable\u00a0generators jumped by nearly 4 GW, rising from a previous peak of 31.7 GW to\u00a035.6 GW. The same day also saw low-carbon sources produce more than 40 GW\u00a0for the first time. Together, Britain\u2019s nuclear, biomass, wind, solar and hydro also\u00a0had their most productive ever month in February<\/a>, averaging more than 25 GW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cells highlighted in blue are records that\u00a0were broken in the first quarter of 2026.
